What does Lucky’s Market focus on, in regards to the Lucky’s Community Project?

Lucky’s Community Project is an ongoing endeavor to create lasting change within the local communities in which we serve. Specifically, we focus on the following four areas:

Healthy Living
Youth & Education
Resilience
Sustainability

We do not fund: Organizations without a 501c3; international focused organizations; operating costs; organizations for political or religious purposes; workshops, conventions, or conferences; individuals personally seeking scholarships; foundations who exist only to allocate funds to other organizations, schools, or individuals.

Can Lucky’s Market donate food and drinks for our upcoming event?

It’s quite possible. For your donation to be considered, please complete an online application and ensure that you’re submitting it at least 5 weeks prior to the event.

Can Lucky’s Market sponsor my event?

You never know unless you ask! We proudly partner with many organizations, but we usually don’t sponsor events and instead focus on tangible, measureable outcomes that directly support those who live in the communities we serve.

However, we are always interested in learning about new opportunities that align with our goals and areas of focus. Please, fill out an online application and submit to your local store 8 weeks prior to the needed sponsorship.

What are the in-store programs?

Impact Days
Held once per quarter (typically on a Tuesday or Thursday), where 10% of that designated day’s net store sales are donated to a local nonprofit partner. Please, see (link to the explanation) here for further details on what to expect and how to apply.

Bags For Change
Each quarter, three nonprofits are selected by a community Facebook vote to receive bag credit donations at their local Lucky’s Market store. When shoppers bring their reusable bags, they can choose to receive $.10 back per bag or donate that amount to a local nonprofit of their choice. Even better: we match the amount raised by our customers! Please, see (link to the explanation) here for further details on how to become a Bags for Change partner.

Does Lucky’s Market offer a discount gift card program for fundraising purposes?

Absolutely! Nonprofit organizations may purchase Lucky’s Market gift cards at a 7% discount. The nonprofit may then sell the cards at face value, retaining the 7%. There is a $100 minimum card purchase. Please, fill out an online application and include the amount of your gift card order, along with the number and increments ($25 cards, $50 cards and $100 cards) you would like. The store will contact you when your cards have arrived.

Does Lucky’s Market offer a volunteering program for staff?

Yes! Our team members accrue paid volunteers hours that they may use for volunteering at a nonprofit of their choice. If your nonprofit organization is interested in Lucky’s Market team members volunteering, please contact the Store Director at your local store to share information on volunteer opportunities.

We are a for-profit business working with non-profits. Can you support our next event?

We appreciate your interest, but unfortunately we require our partners to have 501(C)3 IRS documentation. If your nonprofit partners would like to apply for support, please have them fill out an online application 5 weeks in advance to your event.

Why does Lucky’s Market need so much documentation from a nonprofit?

Our application process allows Lucky’s Market to work from a common set of solid, nonprofit practices. We require a 501(C)3 Determination Letter, in addition to a W-9 for all nonprofit partnerships. We focus on four different areas of impact, and prior to submitting an online application, it is the nonprofit’s responsibility to determine whether the organization meets the guidelines and funding priorities for Lucky’s Community Project.
