What is in a Sunshine Canyon Muffin?

Our Sunshine Canyon Muffin is spelt flour muffins filled with flax seeds, almonds, and coconut. In the winter we add layers of apple butter and in the summer it is chocked full of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.


What is a Gougere?

A Gougere is a cheesy egg based puff pastry. It is savory, moist, fluffy, and perfect for breakfast or lunch. The flavor varies by the season but it is usually blue cheese or cheddar based.


What is a Pavlova?

A pavlova is a meringue cookie baked very low and slow for a delicious sugary treat. Crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle.


Does your Carrot Cake contain any nuts?

Yes, our carrot cake contains walnuts.


Do you use raisins in your products?

No, we are a Raisin-Free Bakery


What is Kombucha?

It is a fermented, lightly effervescent sweetened tea thought to have numerous positive effects from helping digestion to immune boosting. Made by local Kombucha master, Rowdy Mermaid, our flavors change every few days so call or stop in to see what we have pouring.


What is Nitro Iced Coffee?

Iced Coffee brewed by local coffee roasters Method Roasters, kegged up, and run through a nitrogen tap. Just a like traditional Guinness the coffee comes out creamy and eventually settles into a very black, smooth, rich coffee.


What slices and cupcakes do you have today?

No idea! Our slices and cupcakes change every day and sometimes every hour. Call ahead or stop in to see what we have today

Awesome! We are so excited to hear about new items, flavors, and baking ideas. You can contact us here to tell us more about your ideas.


Why don’t you make _____ anymore?

There are so many great items we love that we are unable to make. Sometimes it’s seasonal (we only make Pumpkin Pie in October and November), sometimes it’s a great item that people don’t buy, and sometimes we just want to switch it up and try something new.

Do you have any Gluten-Free products?

Yes! About half of our products are Gluten-Free at any given time.


Do you have any thing Gluten-Free AND Vegan?

Yes! All of our Vegan items are also gluten free and we always have a few vegan items available everyday.


What are your sugar-free alternatives?

For our sugar free items we use honey, maple syrup, and agave as the primary sweetener.


What is in your Gluten-Free Flour?

We use Cup4Cup Gluten Free Flour Blend which contains: Cornstarch, White Rice Flour, Brown Rice Flour, Milk Powder, Tapioca Flour, Potato Starch, and Xantham Gum.


What is in your Vegan Flour?

White Rice Flour, Potato Starch, Tapioca Flour, and Xantham Gum.


Are your products organic?

We make a commitment to using the highest quality ingredients we can find and though we prefer our ingredient to be organically source we cannot guarantee all of our items will be 100% organic nor are we certified organic.


Are you a certified Gluten-Free Bakery?

No, we are not a certified Gluten Free facility. Though we make an effort to avoid cross contamination all of our products are baked in the same oven using the same equipment.


Can I buy your products if I am allergic to nuts?

We use almonds, almond extract, and almond paste freely in many of our products. Though we make an effort to avoid cross contamination we cannot prevent it entirely.


What does Paleo mean?

Paleo means that we do not use any grain based or dairy based product. Our paleo items are made with coconut flour, coconut milk, eggs, and sweetened with honey or maple syrup.


Do you bake your Gluten-Free and Vegan items in the same oven as your regular items?

Yes, due to our limited space we bake all of our gluten free and vegan items in the same oven as our regular products.


General Questions

 

What time do you open and close?

We open are open every day from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM


What time do the bakers get into work?

It varies but generally our baking starts at 4am. It’s a great way to catch the sunrise every morning.


Do you partner with any local businesses?

Yes! We love our local partners! We partner with Savory Spice Shop, Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha, Method Roasters, Central Bag and Burlap, Conscious Coffee, Pekoe Sip House, Alpine Market, and Calluna Events.


Can I order a birthday cake from you?

Absolutely! You can check out our menu here


I am getting married, can I order my wedding cake from you?

Congratulations! Yes, we occasionally do wedding cakes and dessert bars but we are limited to two weddings a month. Please email us to see if we are available.


I want to put my art on your wall. How do I do that?

Where can I find your products?

You can find our products at our Bakehouse, the Lucky’s Market on Broadway and Quince, Pekoe Sip House, and Alpine Modern’s coffee shop.


Do you accept interns?

We accept interns on a case by case basis depending on availability, experience, and program requirements. Please send an email to Jen Bush detailing your desired internship and qualifications.

General Baking Questions

 

I am trying to bake a cake for the first time. Can I call you and ask for advice?

Of course, we are always happy to help people discover their love of baking. We would love to help you with any of your baking questions and needs.


I purchased a cake from you, how do I cut it? Should it be refrigerated?

We recommend cutting all of our products with a very hot, clean knife. All of our 6in three layer cakes should be removed from the refrigerator at least 3-4 hours before serving.
