Lucky’s Bakehouse and Creamery – Meet the Team
According to Jen, a pastry chef of over 20 years, and former small business owner, one of the best ways to show people you care is by baking for them. She has a passion for natural foods and being a part of the local community. Her favorite part of working at Lucky’s is to be able to see her customers personally enjoy the unique products that are being created in-house everyday. When Jen met Bo Sharon, founder of Lucky’s Market, they became fast friends with a shared vision of a natural community bakery. In 2012, with the help of Jen’s baking soulmate Rachel Davis, Lucky’s Bakehouse and Creamery was born.
Rachel began her career at the Whole Foods Bakery frosting cakes and finishing desserts. After graduating culinary school in September 2007, she moved to Steamboat Springs where she worked in a from-scratch bakery for most of 2008. She eventually found her way back to Boulder where she worked as the kitchen manager at Tee and Cakes, creating custom wedding cakes and fresh, inventive cupcakes. From there she moved to Sugar Bakeshop, her home-away-from-home in Charleston, SC. In the fall of 2012, Rachel discovered her baking soulmate in Jen Bush and worked beside her to open Lucky’s Bakehouse and Creamery and never looked back.
