Matt has worked with food as long as he has been able to work at all, working his way through restaurants as an aspiring chef since the age of 15 in Northwest Iowa. He stumbled into the world of natural foods and retail in 2004 when a temporary stop in Jacksonville turned into a 12 year career with local chain Native Sun Natural Foods Market.
His focus on both employee and customer culture is a perfect fit for Lucky’s as is his passion for fresh, quality ingredients. This carries over to his home life as well, where he gardens and raises chickens with his wife and their three daughters. A music lover and still a cook at heart, Matt’s favorite way to pass the time is listening to records and cooking for his family.
