Homemade Pesto


2 cups fresh basil leaves

2 garlic cloves minced

1/3 cup pine nuts or walnuts

1 cup olive oil

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese shredded

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Juice of 1/2 lemon


Try mixing up this recipe and placing it in a cute jar as a gift. Be sure to attach the recipe to the top. If you think there is any chance someone has a pine nut allergy then be sure to use walnuts instead. This pesto should be used within a week or placed in the freezer where it will last up to a month. If you wish to elaborate on this gift then package it with some cool pasta or yummy baguette to serve with it.

Mix ingredients together in a food processor.
