Homemade Sourdough Pizza


1 teaspoon fast-acting yeast

1 cup warm water

3 cups all-purpose flour, divided

1 green pepper sliced

Deli honey-ham slices

2 cluster tomatoes sliced

1 15 oz. can pizza sauce

1/2-1 cup fresh pineapple, peeled, cored and sliced into thin bite-sized pieces

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


In a bowl place yeast and warm water. Stir in 1 cup flour. Cover with saran wrap and let sit. Can sit up to 24 hours. The longer it sits, the more flavorful the dough. When ready to prepare, add 1/2 teaspoon salt, and remaining 2 cups of flour. Mix together and knead for up to 5 minutes. Place in a warm spot, cover and let stand for 30 minutes to an hour as dough rises.

Heat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. When dough is ready place on floured pizza pan. Roll dough to cover pan. Spread pizza sauce across dough. Place ham slices across sauce. Sprinkle a light layer of cheese on ham. Add green peppers, tomato and tomato slices. Sprinkle with more cheese. Add pineapple bits and any remaining cheese. Place in oven Bake for 15-18 minutes, until dough and cheese are tan in color.
